'Here are a few of my favorite spots that are perfect for running and walking!'
Are you interested to engage in student life? The best advice is to engage in associations at Stockholm University. Swedes are such good English speakers and are so keen to have others involved that some associations here operate entirely in English, even the ones with a Swedish name!
There’s no two ways about it, Stockholm is expensive. But that doesn’t mean students can’t make the most of it on their limited budget. Here’s how to have a weekend of fun, fika and entertainment for as little as possible!
Keep your eyes open for activities outside the University that can really enrich your experience here in Sweden!

Funny story. I love swimming and since I arrived to Stockholm I found out that there were many pools around the city (amazing!). So I duly enrolled in the closest one to home and began swimming daily.
International Student Coordinator Monika Lionaite about Lapland trip:
Have you ever wondered how Lapland looks/feels/tastes like? It’s stunning, exciting and tastes like reindeer (or lichen/mushroom if you’re vegetarian). However, if you’re up for a real mind-blowing one-week adventure, you should definitely include Lapland on your trip-list!
Ambassador Luka briefly explains why you should use your democratic power and vote for a party that stands for your interests in this year's Student Union election!
Free books, digital books, recorded lectures, student social insurance, student housing improvements, educational equality and having more fun as a student; these are some of the important questions that parties want to affect. That’s why you should use your democratic power and vote for a party that stands for your interests!
If you want to try something new, why not try to challenge yourself on a cruise ship for 24 hours with your friends and maybe make new friends who are from Stockholm University as well. It can be part of the precious memories that you can take with you for the rest of your life.
As a person who has grown up from an inland city, it was exciting news for me to find out that I can go on a cruise ship for a cheap price and spend all 24 hours on the ship to somewhere new. This trip gave me a chance to take a break from the day-to-day studying with friends and enjoy the Baltic Sea.
On Saturday evening, my friends and I met up at Värthamnen port to pick up our tickets to Turku (Åbo, in Swedish). There is an interesting art wall full rubbers contrasting with other walls next to the gate of checking point. It seemed as if it was foreshadowing the colorful journey ahead of us, and we could not wait to board.
After the checking point, there was a black dog that served as security. The dog is so cute especially when he works hard on a cold winter night. People were excited about the trip. They talked and laughed with dancing-like walking steps.
The ship is named Galaxy and Santa was standing at the door to welcome the people who are boarding. The cabin, which was shared by four people, was quiet and nice.
Beside from partying, there were many of other things you could do on board. People could go to the deck to say "goodbye" to Stockholm like we did, play games with new friends, enjoy the Starlight Palace's music show, or enjoy a nice sleep.
In the morning, you can try to get up early to capture the first sunlight with the breath from the ocean, and enjoy a buffet breakfast to set a good mood for the whole day. Maybe, you could get some candies from the tax-free shops for fun; and then, take a nap and embrace the return trip.
Around 14 o'clock (Swedish time), the sun was starting to set. The pretty view could be enjoyed at multiple locations. We had chosen the sixth deck. The ocean was so peaceful with our ship as the only one sailing on the waters. The sun was glowing as it was approaching the horizon.
Bands were playing music in the Starlight Palace from 15 o'clock until half an hour before arriving back to Stockholm. It was such a joyful experience to talk with different people, dancing, and singing along with the music or just sitting there to enjoy your free time.
Finally, the Galaxy ship got back from the Baltic Sea with unforgettable memories and a new journey starting now.
